Obesity and our own weight is constantly following us around. Whether you pick up a newspaper or turn on the radio or television, adverts for weight loss will be lingering around. When you drive to work the billboards are filled with it and if you open any gossip magazine you will be constantly confronted by the fact that we are all slightly over our ideal weight limit and slightly unfit and the fact of the matter is that we all need to do something to stop the rot.

No-one particularly likes heading down to the gym to perform exercise and sweat it out. This is because gym's are often filled with mirrors, which to be honest are the last thing we want when we are looking at our worst. They are also usually filled with a number of people who love nothing more than to pose in front of the mirrors and hog all the equipment to help perfect their already perfected bodies.

Thankfully exercising doesn't have to be dull, boring and painful. Just by taking up a sport you can actually lose weight and make significant headway into your overall weight loss. Racket sports are an extremely good and east way for you to lose weight and it probably won't surprise you that you can lose significant amounts of weight simple by purchasing some tennis equipment and taking up tennis.

Playing tennis is a very physical game; both your upper and lower body gets a good workout from the activities that take place on court, as you have to utilise your upper body to generate the power and energy to project the ball over the net, whilst you have to perform short sprints to get to the appropriate area of the court.

It is important that you have the appropriate tennis equipment to perform effectively and efficiently on the court though, and I'm not just talking about the tennis racket. You could cause yourself serious injury by having the incorrect type of footwear on. There is a lot of start and stop, twisting and turning done through your ankles in the game of tennis, so make sure when you are purchasing tennis equipment you don't waste all of your budget on the racket.

Another important aspect of tennis equipment is clothing, it is important to have loose fitting clothes so that you have the ability to move around the court and make fluid motions with the racket. It also needs to be breathable so that you don't over heat whilst exercising as there is nothing more annoying that training in uncomfortable heat.

If you want to become fitted in 2010, then why don't you purchase some tennis equipment and take up tennis, it could be the best thing you ever do.
